Margarine, low fat spreads, seed oils(rapeseed, grapeseed, safflower, soya, soybean, corn, sunflower etc), plant based spreads.
There was never anything wrong with beef dripping(beef tallow in the US), lard, coconut oil, butter, ghee, olive oil, avocado oil etc. I remember back in the early to mid 80s when my mother used to make chips from scratch, she would always use lard to fry them in.
However going into the late 80s and beyond not knowing any better at the time, she slowly switched to using vegetable oils.
All of these seed oils are astronomically high in Omega 6 which causes inflammation in the body due to the 6 reducing the amount of Omega 3 which is what the body actually thrives on.
Most folks today are taking in far too much Omega 6 which is one of the many reasons why so many people these days are far from being the most healthy.
Clogged arteries come about as a result of using or consuming foods that contain seed oils as well as high carbohydrate foods, NOT from eating saturated fats.
